LaCasa Norte Pierce House and Howard Brown Health at La Casa Norte

La Casa Norte is a new 5 story building with a partial basement and a 24-unit permanent supportive housing facility for youth and families. LCN’s aim is to develop a vibrant, centralized, community space, FQHC health and dental clinic, with permanent housing and administrative offices. This project is strategically located close-by to mass and public transit, has community services within walking distance, promotes low emitting vehicle use, and maximizes open space with green roofs. Some challenges included the balance of such diverse programmatic space uses. It is hard to maximize system efficiencies when the use-type is so diverse.
